Delayed, Boy William Undergoes Examination at East Java Regional Police
Boy William underwent examination at the East Java Regional Police today (22/7).
Kapanlagi.com - Boy William visited the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of East Java Regional Police on Wednesday (22/7/2020). He was questioned as a witness in a credit card fraud case involving hundreds of Japanese citizens. The money was used for travel business through the Instagram account @tiketkekinian.
Boy was actually invited months ago. However, he could only attend after there was a relaxation from the government regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Why could I only come now because of Covid. When I was first called, I was still abroad. When I returned, I was quarantined for 14 days. After the quarantine, there was a lockdown throughout Indonesia. So it took longer and only now," said Boy after the examination.
Due to Boy William's involvement in this case, he has learned to be more careful before accepting offers as an endorsement model. The actor, who is also a presenter, hopes that his case can serve as a lesson for other public figures to be more cautious.
"Seeing this, hopefully all public figures, including myself, can be selective in taking jobs and endorsements. Because we have to realize that we have a wide range of followers. By endorsing a company that may be, sorry, unclear, I don't want my followers to get caught up in this. In the future, I will be more selective and careful," he emphasized.
In a different interview session, the Head of Public Relations of East Java Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Trunoyudo, explained that there will be several public figures being questioned. However, the timing is still awaiting further updates.
"For the sake of proportional and objective investigation, based on the evidence and this urgent evidence, as witness testimony, we will conduct examinations of everyone involved in the carding case. The names will be with our investigators, so let's wait," Trunoyudo explained.
