Prosecutor Rejects Olivia Nathania's Plea in Court, Ready to be Sentenced by the Panel of Judges

Kapanlagi.com - The daughter of singer Nia Daniaty, Olivia Nathania returned to court for the alleged CPNS fraud case on Monday (21/3/2022). The trial, held at the South Jakarta District Court, was scheduled for a replication or response to the plea made by Olivia Nathania after being sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.

Olivia's lawyer, Andi Mulia Siregar, said that the Public Prosecutor's Office rejected his client's plea. According to him, the prosecutor objected to several points raised by his side.

"The prosecutor objected to our plea, but in the end, it is still the judge who will consider it. There are some objections regarding the return of the money and also the evidence presented in our plea," said Andi Mulia Siregar when contacted on Monday (21/3/2022).

"There are several receipts presented as evidence, but they were not supported by witnesses in the trial, so they cannot be considered as evidence for us. There are witnesses for the evidence, but they were not present to provide testimony about the evidence," he added.

Next, the trial will be held again on March 28, 2022 at the South Jakarta District Court with the agenda of the verdict. Andi Mulia Siregar said, Olivia is ready to listen to the verdict from the panel of judges.

"As for Olivia, she is ready, because legally we think, including Olivia, that the act accused by the prosecutor of being fraudulent did not happen because the money had already been returned before Mr. Karnu reported it to the police. For Olivia, she hopes the judges will acquit her. Because she has returned the money before it was reported to the police," he said.

2. Ready to Appeal

If Olivia is sentenced by the panel of judges the same as the demand of the Public Prosecutor for 3.5 years in prison, Andi Mulia Siregar is ready to appeal for his client.

"Of course we will appeal. We object to that verdict. We will appeal," he concluded.

As known, someone named Karnu reported Olivia Nathania and her husband, Rafly Noviyanto Tilaar to the Jakarta Metro Police on September 23, 2021, after claiming to be a victim of fictitious CPNS recruitment fraud.

The number of victims in the case is said to have reached 225 people. The losses suffered by various parties are estimated to be around IDR 9.7 billion.

The report registered under number LP/B/4728/IX/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya accuses the suspects of violating Article 378 and/or Article 372 and/or Article 263 of the Criminal Code regarding embezzlement, fraud, and forgery of documents.
