Question of Proof of Payment Transfer of 15 Million Royalties Uploaded by Ahmad Dhani, Judika: Musicians Should Stick Together

The husband of Duma Riris admitted that there was nothing special about the video uploaded by Ahmad Dhani. It is common for fellow musicians to respect each other, especially regarding the obligation to pay royalties that he requested to be paid to the organizers in the amount of 15 million rupiah.

"Well, I am also a songwriter, so of course I will support the best for everyone," said Judika when met in the Rawamangun area, East Jakarta, on Sunday (28/1/2024).

"So when Garuda's birthday came, they asked me to sing Mas Dhani's song. Then I said, 'Garuda has to pay, because Mas Dhani made this kind of rule.' So, they paid, and I sang," explained Judika.

1. Judika Supports Direct License

Judika admits to supporting the rule regarding direct license created by Ahmad Dhani and the songwriters in the Association of Indonesian Composers or AKSI. In fact, he also encourages policy makers to create their own rules regarding direct license.

"I personally want everything to be made according to the rules, so that there is no confusion about the rules. Even if it's direct license, the rules should be made clear," explained Judika.

2. Not Wanting Musicians to Sue Each Other

Judika hopes that in the future there will be no more lawsuits between musicians due to unresolved royalty payment issues. "Musicians should not sue each other. Musicians should support each other," concluded Judika.
