Through the Casting Process, Child Actor Muhammad Adhiyat Selected to Play Dilan in the Film 'DILAN 1983: WO AI NI'

Kapanlagi.com - Continuing the success of the Dilan film trilogy, which garnered millions of viewers when released in theaters, Falcon Pictures is making its prequel titled DILAN 1983: WO AI NI. This family drama by Fajar Bustomi will soon begin shooting in Bandung.

The child actor chosen to portray the character Dilan when he was in elementary school is Muhammad Adhiyat. Entrusted to portray this character, Adhiyat revealed that there is a little pressure.

"So, playing Dilan definitely has a little pressure. But there is assistance from Uncle Fajar and others, thank God I feel a little calm," said Adhiyat in a press conference in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Saturday (27/1/2024).

Although feeling pressured, Muhammad Adhiyat is happy to be involved in the movie DILAN 1983: WO AI NI. He can't believe he can portray the character of Dilan while still in elementary school. ,

"I'm happy to be trusted to play Dilan. When I was informed that I would be Dilan, I was really happy, especially because the other actors are also cool," said the eleven-year-old actor.

Fajar Bustomi, as the director, and Pidi Baiq, as the scriptwriter, revealed the difficulties in finding actors to play Dilan and his friends. Before entrusting it to Muhammad Adhiyat, it took months of trial and error.

"To find child actors, we held multiple castings. We were amazed that Indonesia has many talented child actors, but Adhiyat was the closest in age and resemblance. His smile is really comforting," explained Fajar on the same occasion.

In addition to Muhammad Adhiyat, this film also involves several child actors such as Muzakki Ramdhan, Graciella Abigail, Keanu Azka, and comedian Sule's son named Ferdinan.
