Quiet Job During the Pandemic, Andika Mahesa 'Babang Tamvan' Switches to Selling Rice

Kapanlagi.com - During the coronavirus pandemic, many Indonesian celebrities have had their filming activities halted. Like Andika Mahesa or Andika Kangen Band who chose to return to Lampung because there were no job opportunities in Jakarta.

When met in Tendean, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (17/6), the man who is often called Babang Tamvan spoke candidly that he had been unemployed for four months.

"During the pandemic, I was unemployed for four months, and now I'm back in Jakarta in the new normal. Thank God, four months of unemployment," said Andika.

1. Computer Sales - Rice

While in his hometown, he chose to do business with his friend, starting from selling computers to rice. Andika has his own reasons for switching to selling rice when there are no jobs.

"Rice is like a data quota addiction. When you hold a phone but there is no quota, it's useless. Rice is the main consumption of humans, unless the person is afraid of getting fat. Rice is always sought after every day," he said.

2. Being a Youtuber

In addition to doing business, it turns out that Andika has also started regularly creating YouTube content during the pandemic. Starting from his curiosity, YouTube has now become another source of income for Andika.

"Because I have a lot of free time, I just make YouTube content. At first, I was just playing around on YouTube, but thankfully, eventually there was money, it's quite good," he concluded.
