1. Deliberately Keeping the Illness a Secret

Raffi revealed that Mpok Alpa had been struggling with her illness for a long time. This famous presenter explained that the late Mpok Alpa intentionally did not inform the public about her condition.

"To the mercy of Allah, our friend Nina, Mpok Alpa has been sick for a long time. So we shouldn't tell anyone, because the deceased herself, during her life for the past two years, three years, has been fighting cancer," said Raffi Ahmad at the funeral home on Friday (15/8/2025).

2. Respecting a Friend's Wishes

The decision to keep this illness a secret was a direct request from Mpok Alpa and her family. The father of two emphasized that he and other close friends were only trying to respect their friend's wishes.

"It's not that we are covering it up, but from the family and Nina, they also don't want to tell anyone. But we have managed to keep this secret for two years, alhamdulillah," he stated.

According to Raffi, the decision was made because Mpok Alpa is someone who does not want to trouble others with her condition. For many years, she continued to show her professionalism in front of the camera, entertaining many people while secretly enduring the pain she suffered.

As a very close friend, Raffi certainly has many memories with the late one. The man who is fondly called Sultan Andara also reminisces about his last conversation with his friend. "Talking about celebrating his child's birthday," said Raffi.
