Raising the Theme of Women's Empowerment, Launch of the Documentary Film 'INDEPENDENCE by DESIGN' Attended by a Series of Top Artists from the Homeland

Kapanlagi.com - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection initiated an inspiring campaign titled 'Empowered Women for Financial Independence'. This campaign also involves collaboration with Yuking & Co. Attorneys at Law.

The idea for this campaign came from the thoughts of Advocate Ana Sofa Yuking, S.H., M.H as the Managing Partner of Yuking & Co Law Office, who is very concerned about the increasing cases of violence against women in Indonesia.

"Starting from the reality of the increasing violence against women, one of the causes of which is the power relationship gap, such as financial disparity and the disempowerment of women themselves. Therefore, I feel the need to continue educating, strengthening each other, and providing space for fellow women to become Empowered and Independent so that they can stand equal with anyone, becoming women with strong principles, competent knowledge, financial independence, and control over themselves," said Ana Sofa Yuking at the Talk Show and Appreciation Night held at Swiss-Bellhotel Pondok Indah on Friday, September 6, 2024.

1. Attended by a Row of Artists and Influencers

A series of artist and influencer speakers who are also business owners attended the campaign talk show. Some of them include the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Mrs. I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, S.E., M.Si., the Chairwoman of PERSAMI, Mrs. Siti Nur Azizah Ma'ruf Amin, artists Citra Kirana, Paula Verhoeven, Shireen Sungkar, Fitri Tropica, Fenita Arie, Violenzia Jenette, Gritte Aghata, young singers Audrey Zeta Pramono and Shanna Shannon, psychologist Kassandra Putranto, influencers, and other womenpreneurs who also served as speakers in the documentary film Independence by Design, uploaded on the Ana Sofa Yuking YouTube channel.

They shared inspiration on how women can continue to create as independent, innovative, and confident figures, so that women become empowered and self-reliant, and can be beneficial to their families and the wider community.

"Women must also develop legal awareness, not only having legal knowledge but being aware that with the law they can defend against injustice and end discrimination. For this reason, I, on behalf of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, hope that the Yuking & Co. law office, female legal practitioners, and legal experts can maximize all their potential to protect and empower women, and also contribute to providing a protective shield that can be increasingly felt by the wider community," said Mrs. I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati in her speech.

Ana Sofa Yuking added, "I greatly appreciate the amazing women, artists, and influencers who are so concerned about women's empowerment and are willing to share insights on how to become empowered women from their personal struggles. Being empowered is not about ability, but about the willingness of women themselves to change."

2. Give Awards to 22 Amazing Women

That night, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment & Child Protection, along with Yuking & Co Law Office, also awarded 22 amazing women who were deemed capable of inspiring Indonesian women through the Documentary Film 'Empowered Women, Independent Women Towards Financial Independence' initiated by Ms. Ana Sofa Yuking.

"Through this campaign, I hope to create a wave of positive change where women not only dream but are also able to realize their financial independence that is more inclusive and prosperous. And I hope this Documentary Film can be watched and become a positive inspiration for many women in Indonesia. I believe in the principle that if Women are Empowered, then Indonesia Advances," said Ana Sofa Yuking, closing the event attended by 100 womenpreneurs concerned about women's empowerment that night.
