'Reformer', Indonesian Manga Debuting on Japanese Web Comics

Kapanlagi.com - Japan is known as one of the countries that produces comics or manga. And in 2019, there was an Indonesian youth who successfully debuted his manga on Japanese web comics. The manga is titled Reformer.

Quoting from Jurnal Otaku, this Reformer manga will make its debut on Web Comic Zenyon. Of course, this is an extraordinary achievement, as Indonesia has a lot of potential in the field of comic art.

1. Debut in Japan

Reformer itself is a manga created by a young man from Gresik, East Java named Alex Irzaqi. He became the third Silent Manga Audition comic artist to debut as a mangaka. This man, who is also a member of the Master Class, follows in the footsteps of SIDEBURN004 and Dedy Koerniawan Soesanto, who had previously released manga in Japan.

"I am happy to be given the opportunity to draw manga with all of my abilities," said Alex Irzaqi.

In addition to Reformer, which is now making its debut, Alex has also created other works that are equally high quality. In 2017, Alex participated in a competition with a one-shot comic titled Hujan di Tepian Rindu (Rain on the Shore of Longing).

In addition, in Indonesia itself, Alex and his friends also created and published a manga titled Ragasukma.

3. Manga Story Reformer

A glimpse of Reformer, this manga tells the story of a brutal antihero named Mizuno. Mizuno, a retired hitman, works at a repair shop that is always visited by children for some reason.

During a task at one of his customer's apartments, Mizuno becomes aware of a disturbance involving a little girl who often comes to his shop. This is what eventually forces Mizuno to return to the world he left behind long ago.

In addition, through Reformer, Alex Irzaqi and his colleague, Toshiaki Yamada, aim to show the dark side of Japanese society that is often forgotten. They want to demonstrate that the less fortunate can obtain justice.
