Reported for Alleged Assault, Iko Uwais: I am a Peaceful Person

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Iko Uwais has been reported by Rudi to the Bekasi Metro Police for alleged assault. Not accepting the report, Audy Item's husband reported Rudi and his wife back to the Jakarta Metro Police for alleged defamation. Iko Uwais' lawyer, Leonardus Sagala, explained that Rudi had distorted the actual facts.

"Regarding Rudi's report to our client at the Bekasi Police, we can say that Rudi has distorted the facts in his report to the Bekasi Police by cutting and manipulating the actual facts," said Leonardus Sagala, as quoted by KapanLagi.com on Tuesday (14/6/2022).

"Our client never assaulted Rudi. In fact, Rudi attempted to hit our client's brother, so he had to prevent and defend his brother from getting hurt," added Leonardus Sagala.

Iko Uwais then added that his actions towards Rudi were only in self-defense. "My response to Rudi's actions was purely self-defense and protection for my family members," said Iko Uwais.

A commotion between Iko Uwais and Rudi occurred on June 11, 2022. The problem started when Iko Uwais was accused of not paying a Rp 150 million fee for interior design services to Rudi for building a house in the Cibubur area of East Jakarta.

In their agreement, the amount that Iko Uwais had to pay Rudi for interior design services was Rp 300 million. However, Iko Uwais had already paid a down payment of Rp 150 million. Based on that, they argued and Rudi reported Iko Uwais to the Metro Bekasi Kota Police for alleged assault.

"The commotion on June 11, 2022, arose because of Rudi and his wife's actions in running away from their obligations to our client who had made a payment of Rp 150,000,000 or equivalent to 50% of the contract value and throwing vile slander that insulted our client and his wife," said Leonardus Sagala.

"We, Leonardus Sagala S.H., M.H., and Rahim Key, S.H., from the SKY Law Firm as legal counsel have accompanied the making of a report against Rudi and his wife at the Metro Jaya Police for alleged criminal acts as referred to in Article 351 of the Criminal Code, Article 310 of the Criminal Code, and Article 311 of the Criminal Code," continued Leonardus Sagala.

3. Expressing Concern

In response to this incident, Iko Uwais himself expressed great concern about the commotion between him and Rudi. Moreover, the collaboration to build Iko's house in the Cibubur area of East Jakarta had already been agreed upon by Rudi.

"I am concerned about the incident that we certainly do not want. That I am actually a victim of the wrong actions of Rudi. At first, I collaborated with Rudi and I have made payments according to the terms," said Iko Uwais.

"But apparently, when I asked about the progress of the work according to the agreement, it was not responded to adequately. I tried to meet to discuss it properly, but Rudi seemed to always try to avoid it," continued Iko Uwais.

The commotion between Iko Uwais and Rudi was briefly separated by Firmansyah, the brother of the player from The Raid movie. However, Firmansyah's presence to break up their quarrel was met with physical violence from Rudi.

"When it was getting heated, my brother appeared wanting to break it up but instead was met with physical violence from Rudi towards my brother. That's when I was forced to defend myself, especially to protect my brother," said Iko Uwais.

The problem experienced by Iko Uwais and Rudi has now ended up with the police. Rudi reported Iko to the Metro Bekasi Kota Police Resort on suspicion of assault. Meanwhile, Iko Uwais reported Rudi for alleged defamation. Although he has reported Rudi, Iko Uwais himself wants this issue to be resolved peacefully.

"I am a peaceful person and hope that in the future, nothing like this will happen, not to me, my family, or even beloved media friends wherever they are. Of course, we all want to live in an atmosphere of peace and love for each other. We can work more comfortably and more diligently for a better life," concluded Iko Uwais.
