Preparing oneself to become a Miss Universe contestant is certainly not an easy task. In fact, Sonia admitted to receiving bullying when she was chosen as Miss Indonesia.
This year's National Costume was designed by Dynand Fariz from Jember Fashion Carnival. Taking the theme of Bird Of Paradise, this costume is inspired by the beauty of the bird of paradise from Papua.
This costume weighs approximately 9 kilograms and features beautiful feathers. Not only showcasing beauty, this clothing also highlights the strength of women.
"I am showing another side of my power. I like martial arts and music, that's why I want to show my strength but still look graceful," Sonia concluded.
