Representing the Award, Dul Jaelani Reveals the Reason Dewa 19's Song Became the Most Popular Karaoke Song of 2019

Kapanlagi.com - Al Ghazali and Dul Jaelani represented Dewa 19 and received the Billboard Indonesia Music Awards 2020 trophy. Dewa 19 won the Top Karaoke Song of The Year category with the song Kangen, beating Panbers (Akhir Cinta), Anji (DIA), Armada Band (Harusnya Aku), Cakra Khan (Kekasih Bayangan), and Ilir 7 (Salah Apa Aku)

Both sons of Ahmad Dhani stated that they represented their father and Dewa 19 who were unable to attend. Dul also added that they are the heirs of Dewa 19.

"Because father couldn't attend, so we represent, in a sense, the heirs of Dewa 19," Dul said when met at the Billboard Indonesia Music Awards 2020 event in West Jakarta on Wednesday night (26/2).

As a representative of Dewa 19, Dul is grateful that the band formed by Dhani Ahmad, Erwin Prasetya, Wawan Juniarso, and Andra Junaidi has received recognition from many other legendary bands. He also expresses his gratitude to those who contributed to the success of Dewa 19, from the fans to Maia Estianty who served as the inspiration for their songs.

"Yes, I feel proud and grateful. I didn't expect to receive this award. Because there are many legendary bands, I thought I wouldn't win. I want to thank all Indonesian music lovers, Dewa 19 fans. Thank you to Allah SWT, everyone who appreciates, Jan Djuhana who helped Dewa 19, all the record companies that have supported Dewa 19. Thank you to Maia Estianty for being the inspiration for Dewa 19's songs," said Dul.

In Dul's eyes, the song Kangen is one of Dewa 19's hits that will be remembered forever. As a masterpiece, Dul admits that the song Kangen is enjoyable to perform and arrange.

"Yes, maybe this song is one of Dewa 19's hits. Maybe, it's one of those everlasting hits like Iwan Fals has Bento, Chrisye has Sabda Alam. So I think this is Dewa 19's masterpiece. The song is also enjoyable. Yesterday, I performed it on Indonesian Idol, and it can be arranged nicely in any way. Maybe this song will be remembered forever," said the owner of the full name Abdul Qodir Jaelani.
