Responding to the 9.5 Billion Demand from Nagaswsara, Atta Halilintar: We Cannot Make Any Profit!

As it is known, the family, which gained fame through the Youtube platform, was reported by Nagaswara for alleged Copyright Infringement for covering and changing the lyrics of the song Lagi Syantik without permission.

Atta and his siblings were called as witnesses in this case. The trial went smoothly although there was a short break. After the trial, the man who is rumored to be close to Aurel Hermansyah met with the waiting media.

"I am here as a witness for Nagaswara's lawsuit against my parents and siblings, especially my parents. The trial went smoothly although there was a break. 1. Reasons for Covering 'Lagi Syantik'

Atta explained that his family did not profit at all from covering the song popularized by Siti Badriah. Instead, they had to spend a lot of money to make the video.

"Earlier, we could tell how Gen Halilintar didn't get any profit at all from covering the song. Because we know that when we cover someone else's song, we don't get any profit, in fact, we have to invest in the video. The investment is even bigger because we have to do video editing, costumes, transportation, and production. From a management perspective, it's not for profit," Atta emphasized.

"Well, there is no profit here because there was a high demand from subscribers to ask for a cover of the song 'Lagi Syantik.' Because this song is booming and it's an Indonesian song, we are very proud because Indonesian songs can be known by many people both domestically and internationally. So we want to participate as well," added Thariq, Atta's younger brother at the same location.

2. Admit Still Novice Regarding Copyright

This is not the first time the Gen Halilintar family has covered other people's songs. Atta as the eldest son also does not deny that his family and management are still very ignorant about the law and limitations of copyright.

"We, Gen Halilintar, have previously covered foreign songs that were also requested by many people. When we cover, the income is taken, but we can still create on our own YouTube channels. Moreover, this YouTube is managed by management, maybe our management is ignorant about legal matters, copyright. As for the songwriters, our management and talent, my siblings don't get any profit. Unlike the news there that says we take it," Atta explained further.

3. Previously Visited Nagaswara Office

Previously, the Gen Halilintar family management has come to the Nagaswara office several times to discuss this issue in a good manner. However, Nagaswara still took this case to the legal route and sued the Gen Halilintar family to pay compensation of Rp 9.5 billion.

"From our management, several times, from the second time the management came. This is for clarification and finally our family also had the opportunity to come to the Nagaswara office, at that time we clarified, wanted to meet, wanted to learn. because we are very ignorant in the world of music and entertainment," Thariq concluded.
