Roby Geisha Applies for Rehabilitation, Police Still Bring the Case to Court

Kapanlagi.com - Geisha band guitarist Roby Satria has applied for rehabilitation after being named a suspect in a case involving the alleged misuse of marijuana. Regarding this matter, the police have confirmed that they will still bring Roby Satria's case to court.

South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Unit Chief AKBP Achmad Akbar stated that they will not pursue restorative justice mechanisms in this case.

"Indeed, as of yesterday, we have taken the detention measures against both of them. Of course, now the investigation process is ongoing. The investigators did not take restorative justice mechanisms. We will submit the case to court," said Achmad Akbar at South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Wednesday (23/3/2022).

1. Victim's Family Rights

Akbar explained that the request for rehabilitation is the right of the victim's family. However, the authority of the police investigator only accommodates the assessment request to a more competent party.

"We need to understand that the assessment request or rehabilitation request is the right of the suspect's family. We investigators only accommodate or submit assessments to competent parties. But this is only accompanying," said Achmad Akbar.

"The main investigation process, so we apply it. Why not take restorative justice steps, one of the considerations is the repetition of the perpetrator's actions and the quantity of evidence related to this case," added Achmad Akbar.

2. Legal Process Continues

For the next step, the police will continue the legal process against Roby Geisha until the drug abuse case file is completed.

"Going forward, the process is normative. We will complete the file and then bring it to the Prosecutor's Office," concluded Achmad Akbar.

3. Arrested with Assistant

As previously reported, Roby Geisha was arrested at Musika Studio office, Perdatam, South Jakarta, on Saturday (19/3/2022) at 9:00 PM. Not alone, Roby Geisha was arrested by the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police with his assistant, AJ.

4. Evidence of 8 Grams of Marijuana

In the arrest, the police secured evidence in the form of 8 grams of marijuana and one used marijuana cigarette.

"Investigators found the first evidence of marijuana in a package, weighing 8 grams, and then there was also used marijuana that had been rolled and smoked," said Kombes Pol Budhi Herdi Susianto.

5. Three Times Drug Cases

This is not the first time Roby Geisha has been arrested. He was previously arrested for a similar case in 2013 and 2015. In 2015, Roby Geisha was arrested by police in Bali. He was caught buying marijuana and sentenced to six months in prison.
