Roy Marten revealed that at the peak of his career, he was able to star in up to 14 films in a year. This made him one of the leading actors in Indonesia at that time. He even set a record by changing cars 32 times in one year, reflecting his success in the entertainment industry.
Roy Marten was part of the star group "The Big Five" in 1977, which included other leading actors such as Yati Octavia and Robby Sugara. This group was known for having the highest honorarium at that time, which was 5 million rupiah per film.
"So I had the idea that at that time the honorarium for the top players was Rp 2 million, couldn't be more, per film, per title. Then I had the idea of standardizing the honorarium to Rp 5 million," he said in the Obrolan Tiap Waktu seen on YouTube TRANS7 OFFICIAL, on Saturday (9/11/2024).
In the heyday of Roy Marten's career, he claimed he could buy several houses, even one in the Pondok Indah area. "That house in Pulomas was still Rp 14 million. Then it rose to around Rp 40 million by (the year) 82. The Pondok Indah house was still Rp 30 million at that time," he said.
Gading Marten's father has many fans, and it's not uncommon for his house to be swarmed by fans who want to meet him. Â "Oh, many. For example, back in the day, my house was always visited by dozens of people, they waited until I came out," concluded Grandpa Gempita Nora Marten.
"I had to go out the back because it was really difficult with so many people. Almost every day. They asked for all sorts of things, some asked for hair, haircuts, underwear, clothes," he continued.
