Dhaup Ageng or known as royal wedding in English, is ready to be held by Kadipaten Pakualaman Jogja. Currently, Pakualam X is ready to hold the wedding ceremony of his youngest son, B.P.H. Kusumo Kuntonugroho, who is marrying dr Laily Annisa Kusumastuti.
Pakualaman is holding Dhaup Ageng to preserve Javanese culture that has been rarely done by the society lately. The main event itself is the marriage solemnization that will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
The marriage of B.P.H. Kusumo Kuntonugroho and dr Laily Annisa Kusumastuti is just around the corner. Kadipaten Pakualaman Jogja will hold Dhaup Ageng, also known as royal wedding, for this event.
This Dhaup Ageng will have the theme of Manifestation of Bathara Indra's Intelligence. The main purpose of holding this royal wedding is to preserve and uphold Javanese culture.
The series of Dhaup Ageng events has started at Kadipaten Pakualaman. The first event held is Bucalan, which marks the beginning of the entire wedding ceremony. The meaning of this event is to discard or eliminate any obstacles that may occur during the wedding ceremony.
After Bucalan, the wilujengan event is held. This event is a prayer for the safety and smooth running of the entire wedding ceremony.
After wilujengan, the Pakualaman family performs a pilgrimage. They offer prayers to the ancestors who have passed away.
The next event is the wedding recitation. This event is held at the 5 Kagungan Dalem Mosque, which is part of Pakualaman. During this event, the family offers prayers to God for the smooth running of the wedding ceremony.
Before the wedding, the Pakualaman family held the Majang Tarub and Majang Pasareyan events, followed by the installation of bleketepe.
After this, the family will hold the siraman ceremony, midodareni, and then followed by the marriage vows and reception.
