The post-divorce polemic of Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah has heated up again after both parties communicated their clarifications to the public. This time, Ruben Onsu's lawyer, Minola Sebayang, highlighted the communication issues regarding their children.
According to Minola, the main issue that Ruben feels is not related to material or assets. The 42-year-old presenter is said to prioritize his relationship and time with his three children. Here are the details.
Minola emphasized that they have a basis for stating that there was an agreement regarding the meeting times between Ruben and the children.
"So what we conveyed is that there should be an agreement when a divorce occurs, that within one week the children will at least meet and gather with Ruben Onsu for at least two to three days a week," said Minola Sebayang when met in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, Sunday (31/5/2026).
According to Minola, this point is stated in the agreement deed made before the official divorce was finalized. Therefore, he denied the assumption that the statement made by Ruben's side has no basis.
Ruben's legal counsel also believes that communication between the father and mother remains an important factor in child-rearing after divorce. He stated that this issue should be discussed without becoming public consumption.
"But is Ruben's right to meet and gather with his children two to three days a week granted? It is not granted. So this becomes a problem," said Minola.
Furthermore, Ruben's side claims to have made efforts to communicate through Sarwendah to meet the children. However, according to Minola, that communication does not always go as hoped.
