Based on messages in journalist WhatsApp groups, it is reported that the man affectionately known as Kang Ajip Rosidi passed away at RS Tidar Magelang. Ajip Rosidi himself is known to the public as a figure with great achievements in the field of literature and international culture.
"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. Ajip Rosidi has passed away at RS Tidar tonight. May he have a good ending. Indonesia has lost one of its great writers again. A self-taught person who received international recognition. A person without formal education degrees, yet was asked by Japan to teach in their country for almost 30 years. Lahul fatihah," reads a short message in the WhatsApp group.
Previously, Ajip Rosidi fell at his son's house located in Pabelan, Mungkid District, Magelang Regency. As reported by Tempo, the late was then taken to the hospital and received treatment since Thursday (23/7/2020) before taking his last breath there.

Ajip Rosidi has been the husband of senior actress Nani Wijaya for 3 years. On April 16, 2017, Ajip Rosidi and Nani Wijaya held their wedding at the Great Mosque of Keraton Kasepuhan Cirebon.
