Kapanlagi.com - Sad news comes from Iga Massardi, the vocalist of Barasuara. His father, Yudhistira Massardi, passed away on Tuesday (2/4) night. The sad news appeared on X's timeline, one of them from the tweet of artist Randy Danistha expressing his condolences.
"Innalillahi waina ilaihi rojiun. Condolences to Iga Massardi's father. Al-Fatihah," wrote Randy while quoting another tweet from a user who reported the news of Iga's father's passing.
Iga himself indirectly announced the departure of his father through a story post on his official Instagram account. He uploaded an image of a hand being held while writing: "1954-2024", an indication of the years of someone's life, which is believed to be his father.

After investigation, the late Yudhistira was indeed sick and hospitalized. Previously, Iga uploaded a photo of himself visiting his father, about a week ago.
During that visit, Iga reported that his father's condition had improved after undergoing an examination. He even mentioned that his father would soon be allowed to go home from the hospital. He looked happy at that time.
"Alhamdulillah, Father is getting better. Thank you for your prayers, friends. Insha Allah, Mr. @yudhistiramassardi_ will be able to go home this week. Can I ask for more prayers? Maybe it will be accepted. Thank you very much," Iga wrote in the caption of his post.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans. Iga Massardi's father passed away at the age of 70 on Tuesday night (2/4). As of the time this news was released, the cause of Iga's father's death is still unknown.

Unlike Iga who immersed himself in the world of music, the late Yudhistira was a prominent writer. He was once the editor of Le Laki magazine (1976-1978), Tempo magazine (1979-1981), Jakarta Jakarta magazine (1985-1987), Editor magazine (1988), and Gatra magazine during his lifetime.
In 1981, the late Yudhistira attended the Asian Authors Conference in Manila. He also participated in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, United States.
Although not a musician, the late Yudhistira often wrote lyrics that were later sung by the sibling duo Franky and Jane.
