The news of the remake or reboot of the ONE PIECE anime has excited the nakama. They can’t wait for the latest release being worked on by Wit Studio. Recently, Wit Studio uploaded several sneak peeks of the One Piece anime.
What will the animation of the One Piece anime look like if produced by Wit Studio?
This is what the concept of the ONE PIECE anime looks like that will be remade by Wit Studio. The animation is also very different.
However, this is still just a concept; Wit has not released any teasers yet, except for this image. The ONE PIECE, which will later be titled THE ONE PIECE, is scheduled to air in mid-2025.
The portrayal of the main character, Monkey D. Luffy, is quite different compared to the work of TOEI Animation.
The anime THE ONE PIECE will later be aired on Netflix, and Netflix will be the only platform to broadcast THE ONE PIECE.
Several arcs or sagas have been prepared by Wit Studio. From the leaks, there are 11 arcs that will be aired later.
Most interestingly, Wit will cut many episodes in the anime THE ONE PIECE. Out of 1115 episodes, Wit will present THE ONE PIECE using a seasonal format.
From the leak of 11 arcs, there are about 263 episodes. This cuts more than 80 percent of the ONE PIECE episodes that have aired up to today, which is 1115.
With over a thousand episodes, viewers will spend at least 25 years, or even more, to finish One Piece. Meanwhile, this from Wit Studio only takes about 6 years.
Just like the manga and anime produced by TOEI Animation, the first episode opens with the East Blue Saga arc. Starting from Luffy's adventure in searching for a crew, meeting the pirate Buggy, and eventually entering the Alabasta Saga, and so on.
THE ONE PIECE was first announced in December at Jump Festa 2024, an anime and manga expo sponsored by Shueisha Japan. Wit Studio itself is reported to have been working on this anime since November 2023.
The people behind the animator of THE ONE PIECE are also not ordinary, Masashi Koizuka, known as the director of Attack on Titan, Hideaki Abe from Jujutsu Kaisen, Taku Kishimoto famous from Haikyu!!, Kyoji Asano (from Spy x Family) and Takatoshi Honda (from The First Slam Dunk).
Although there has been a lot of buzz about the concept, it is still not confirmed whether the voice actor for Luffy and the other characters will still be the same person or even different. We'll wait for the release date.
