Screening on Valentine's Day, Film 'ALI TOPAN' Releases Video Teaser and Teaser Poster - Starring Jefri Nichol & Lutesha Catch Attention

The official teaser shows the adventurous journey of the main character Ali Topan (Jefri Nichol). Meanwhile, the teaser poster introduces Ali Topan along with other characters, namely Anna Karenina (Lutesha), Bobby (Omara Esteghlal), Maya (Anya Zen), Dudung (Reza Hilman), and Gevaert (Bebeto Leutualy).

In the teaser, Ali Topan is portrayed as a young person who chooses to spend his time on Blok M Street and the Art Cafe with his gang, Dudung, Bobby, and Gevaert. Although he may seem like a rebellious teenager, Ali Topan is depicted as being close to the world of art, music, and activism.

The character of Ali Topan is also shown involved in intense fighting in the teaser video. Ali Topan, who loves challenges and rebellion, actually captivates Anna Karenina (Lutesha). The first meeting between Ali Topan and Anna is also depicted as continuing into their romantic story. There is also a funny appearance by Onadio Leonardo, who portrays the character Dirga at the end of the teaser video, which also catches attention.

Sidharta Tata said that his latest film comes with a new story that showcases the visuals and spirit of today's youth along with various issues they face.

"We still maintain the characteristic of Ali Topan, who finds his playground on the streets, in Block M," wrote Sidharta Tata in a press release received by kapanlagi.com.

"Ali Topan is a typical hangout kid who gathers with people regardless of social class, who can interact with everyone, so this film can be an inspiration for today's youth, especially Gen Z," continued Sidharta Tata.

2. Jefri Nichol Falls in Love with the Film Script

Meanwhile, Jefri admitted that he gained a lot of inspiration from the character he played. Jefri said he fell in love with the script of the film by Teguh Esha, which was popular in the 1970s, when he first saw it.

"I can learn a lot from the character Ali Topan. Although he comes from an upper-class background, he chooses to come down, to be close to the people. And even though he is a rebel, he has reasons, I really like it," said Jefri Nichol.

3. Plot

The film ALI TOPAN tells the story of a dysfunctional family. Ali Topan (Jefri Nichol) chooses to spend his time on the streets of Blok M and Warung Seni under the guidance of Opung Brotpang (Ari Sihasale) along with his gang, Dudung (Reza Hilman), Bobby (Omara Esteghlal), and Gevaert (Bebeto Leutualy).

His encounter with Anna Karenina (Lutesha), the daughter of a prominent property business family, adds color to Ali Topan's life. Ali and Anna fall in love, but their relationship is strongly opposed by Anna's parents.

Unstoppable disappointment drives Ali and Anna to go on an adventure together, crossing the streets of Java Island. However, along their journey, many parties try to track them down and hunt them, including Boy (Axel Matthew Thomas) who dislikes Ali and Anna being together.

Ali Topan is even accused of being the mastermind behind the turmoil at Warung Seni and kidnapping Anna. Can Ali Topan and Anna Karenina's courage overcome everyone who opposes them? Will Ali Topan continue to be with Anna Karenina?
