Sean Gelael Experiences a Crash Resulting in Severe Damage to the Car While Competing in Belgium

Kapanlagi.com - Sean Gelael, an Indonesian racer competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), had an accident while racing at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium on Saturday (11/5/2024) local time. The car driven by Sean suffered severe damage.

Last month, Sean and the WRT team finished in first and second positions during the race at the Imola circuit in Italy. Unfortunately, in Belgium, WRT experienced two crashes.

According to Detik Sport, the first crash involving the WRT team occurred with their driver from Oman, Ahmad Al Harty. Ahmad, who was driving car number 46, had to stop his action because he became a victim of a collision between two Hypercars behind him.

1. Becoming a Victim of Other Racers

After the race resumed after being stopped, it was Sean Gelael's turn to take action by riding the WRT 31. As he stepped on the gas, Sean managed to push through to P5. Sean also competed to take P4 before the unfortunate incident happened to him.

Racer Earl Bamber from Cadillac Racing 2 intended to overtake Neel Jani from Proton Competition Team 99. This incident caused an accident and Sean Gelael's car became the victim. It happened after Earl Bamber's car bumped into Jani and then collided with Sean.

2. Sean is Fine

Sean's and Earl Bamber's cars were severely damaged, causing them to stop. However, luckily both Sean and Bamber are fine.

"Thank you for the messages, Alhamdulillah I am fine. It was a scary accident and unavoidable. We keep moving forward. The marathon (competition) continues," Sean wrote on Instagram.
