Kapanlagi.com - Since childhood, Shandy Aulia has witnessed the separation of her parents. At that time, Shandy stayed with her mother, while her 3 older sisters stayed with her father. Since then, they have lived separately and embraced different beliefs.

Recently, Shandy visited her eldest sister named Dian. On that occasion, they talked about various things related to family relationships and the beliefs they each embrace.

"About faith choices or differences that exist. It's my past experience. Because I was raised in a situation where my parents were separated, I never experienced having both parents in the same house. If I wanted to meet my father, I would go to his house, and if I wanted to meet my mother, I would go to her house," Shandy revealed as quoted from Shandy Aulia's Youtube channel.

1. Shandy Aulia Once Practiced 2 Religions Simultaneously

When her parents separated, Shandy went with her mother when she was around 1 year old. Despite the separation, Shandy still often visited her aunt's house, where her siblings lived after the separation. At that time, Shandy's 3 siblings had already embraced Islam.

"When I was in kindergarten or elementary school, starting my teenage years, I still experienced what it's like to practice 2 religions. Because I remember I used to stay overnight at my aunt's house. There, I still practiced praying and even fasting. And with my mother, I went to church. So I enjoyed both of them, because at that time I knew God but my focus was still on playing and school. So I practiced both," Shandy added.

2. Shandy Aulia's Decision Once Triggered Debate

When she grew older and started to understand, Shandy finally made a decision about her belief. Yes, the star of the movie EIFFEL I'M IN LOVE chose to follow her mother's faith. Of course, there was a debate with her father at that time.

"When I was almost 17 years old, I started to speak up to my mother and father that this is my choice. Even though there was opposition, differences in opinion, I explained to my father that the choice was solely mine and my mother had no influence," concluded the wife of David Herbowo.

3. The Trust of the Older Sister

After telling her story, Shandy asked her older sister, who is a Muslim. Considering that she and her two siblings live with their father and aunt who also embrace Islam, her belief gradually formed from there.

"We have a cousin named Grace (from mom). We were close to them when we were kids. It's like you, Grace happened to be active in the church, so she's like a church teenager. So if we go to Grace's house to play, I also join in, play with her friends. Sometimes I help Grace with her spiritual events. But again, because we were educated in Islamic faith by our aunt since the separation, I feel more confident in my belief in Islam," Dian continued.
