Sheila Marcia Begins Her Repentance, Admits to Feeling Uncomfortable with Her Tattoos

The transformation of Sheila Marcia, who is currently in the process of removing her tattoos, has received a lot of praise. However, behind this significant decision lies a profound spiritual reason. It is not due to pressure from others, but purely from her own intentions and the repentance she is undergoing.

Sheila feels that this change is part of her process of maturing in faith and mindset. The more she delves into religious teachings, the more she understands what God wants for her life. This has motivated her to gradually improve herself, including her physical appearance.

"There’s no reason, just a sincere intention, and indeed because I want to start my repentance, that’s when God also changes my mindset. So my mindset is also slowly changing, like that," said Sheila Marcia when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta recently.

The sense of "unease" that the 2004 GADIS Sampul finalist has towards the tattoo she possesses began to emerge along with her spiritual growth.

"Yeah, how should I put it? In our belief, when we read the scripture, we are reading the word of God. So we also learn what God wants, what God's will is," she explained.

Besides spiritual factors, her children also become her biggest motivation. Sheila wants to set a good example for her offspring. She feels this decision is a combination of obedience to God and love for her children.

"Maybe if I have to, if it's said I have to, there might be a reason, maybe one because God told me to, the second is that I feel uncomfortable. And secondly, for my children," she said.

Interestingly, there is no pressure from the extended family regarding her past. Sheila's family actually supports who she is now and looks to the future, without bringing up what has happened in the past.

"There is none. The family sees that what has happened is in the past. They know maybe they don't dwell on it anymore. They just look forward," she emphasized.
