Adik Zaskia Sungkar (Zaskia Sungkar's sister) went to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, only with her mother. Many impressions were gained while fasting and performing the Umrah journey.
"Alhamdulillah Allah gives me the opportunity to go there again, this time with my mother," said Shireen when met in the area of Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, not long ago. "I'm so happy that I can perform Umrah during Ramadan," added Shireen Sungkar.
Shireen Sungkar said that time seems to pass quickly. That's why fasting can run smoothly without any obstacles. "Even though fasting doesn't feel burdensome there, it's enjoyable," said Shireen Sungkar.
Shireen Sungkar said that it was a bit difficult to leave her children at home. Moreover, during this Ramadan month, Teuku Adam Al Fatih, Cut Hawwa Medina Al Fatih, and Cut Shafiyyah Mecca Al Fatih are learning to fast.
One of the difficulties experienced by Shireen Sungkar and Teuku Wisnu's three children is waking up in the middle of the night to have sahur (pre-dawn meal during Ramadan). That's why Teuku Wisnu's role is very important in this month of mercy.
"Because the children also struggle to wake up for sahur. Adam and Hawa are already learning to fast so they can't be left alone. Because we think they are not yet able to wake up on their own without being awakened," explained Shireen Sungkar.
In addition, her children still lack the patience to wait for iftar time. That's why, as much as possible, during umrah, the 32-year-old woman continues to accompany her children until it's time to break their fast.
"They can't be patient from morning until breaking the fast by themselves, they need their parents. Even when I'm on umrah, I video call them when they break their fast, ask for updates, and still feel accompanied. They are very happy," she concluded.
