LOSMEN BU BROTO, which is a feature film from 2021, will be continued in a serial format by Netflix. LOSMEN BU BROTO: THE SERIES is one of the lineups for Next on Netflix 2025. This series will highlight the story of Bu Broto's children.
"This is a continuation of the story from the film. If the film focuses on Sri, this first season of the series focuses on Tarjo," said Robert Ronny as the producer at the Next on Netflix event on Wednesday (5/2/2025).
In the snippet shared, Baskara Mahendra is depicted as falling in love with an older woman played by Wulan Guritno. This age-difference romance will be the topic addressed in this series.
"This is not an 'easy' romance story. We are trying to raise something that is difficult to discuss because it is taboo in many ways," continued Robert Ronny.
A number of famous names will be acting in this series. In addition to Baskara Mahendra and Wulan Guritno, this film also stars Febby Rastanty, Sisca Saras, Ayushita, and Maudy Koesnaedi.
Additionally, each episode of LOSMEN BU BROTO: THE SERIES is known to feature new characters, either as guests or supporting actors. This is what sets the series apart from the film version, making it feel fresher.
Arwin Wardhana, as the director, revealed that he is trying to maintain the visuals and values that already exist in the film LOSMEN BU BROTO. One of the highlights is showcasing the Indonesian family aspect with the culture of Yogyakarta.
As is known, the film LOSMEN BU BROTO in 2021 itself highlighted the hospitality of the Bu Broto family in receiving guests.
It will air in 10 episodes, LOSMEN BU BROTO: THE SERIES not only presents new conflicts but also situational comedy.
