When he first found out about the earthquake that occurred on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Audi said that her husband was very panicked and worried about his family who live in Taipei.

"Yes, we were quite surprised when we found out about the earthquake in Taiwan. Anthony was very worried and concerned about his family," said Audi Marissa when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/3/2024) night.

1. A Little Relieved

After her husband contacted his family there, Audi said that her husband was a little relieved. His parents are safe and in good condition.

"Because my husband's family (Anthony Xie) is good, including his parents, siblings, and cousins who live there, all of his family is in Taipei. But so far his parents are safe," Audi said.

"My husband's parents live in an apartment with a high unit. So the earthquake was strongly felt. After the earthquake, there was also a tsunami warning," Audi added.

2. Much Bigger

The 28-year-old woman had a conversation with her in-laws who were in Taiwan. According to them, this earthquake was much bigger than usual.

"So when my husband's parents experienced the earthquake, they went to the lobby and saw several walls collapsed and destroyed, there were also large cracks. The epicenter was in Hualien, but it was felt in Taipei," Audi explained.

Although they were affected by the earthquake, it seems that Anthony's parents are still staying in the apartment, waiting for instructions from the Taiwanese Government on whether they should evacuate or not.

3. There is Fear

"So yeah, they are more afraid of another big earthquake, there is a sense of fear. Because after the big earthquake in the morning, there are also aftershocks that are small," he said.

Audi hopes that in the future, such earthquakes will not happen again in Taiwan. Of course, so that there will be no more loss of life due to that disaster.

"In short, hopefully there will be no loss of life, if there is, not many. Definitely stay safe, follow the rules and follow the government regulations, hopefully everything will be fine," Audi concluded.
