Educational Content Becomes Part of the Top 5 Categories

During the press conference, Kevin Chandra (Education & Lifestyle Creators Partnership Lead, TikTok Indonesia) revealed the incredible development of educational content on TikTok, even becoming one of the top 5 categories.

“The development of education on TikTok is not without the support of an active community that creates and makes TikTok a fun place to learn. The TikTok feature makes it easy for people to share their knowledge and skills. It makes educational content more interesting and easy to understand,” explained Kevin.

Kevin also revealed that the campaign is in line with digital learning promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek). Digital learning methods are also an effort for Kemendikbudristek to create a healthy internet environment as a learning medium.

Collaborating with Public Figures and Creators

He added that through this campaign, there will be many surprises from public figures and creators that will make it even more insightful.

"Overall, the #SerunyaBelajar campaign on TikTok brings many collaborations with creators and public figures. One of them is Cinta Laura as a figure who highly values education and self-development. Cinta has also shared educational content on TikTok through #SamaSamaBelajar.

The #SerunyaBelajar campaign series is held in a hybrid manner from June 27th to July 10th. There are 3 main activities in the campaign. Starting from the Hashtag Challenge for all TikTok users over the age of 18, followed by the TikTok Live Series with the theme of Fun Learning to Build the Future on June 29th - July 7th, 2022.

In addition, the offline event will begin with the "Creative Edu Exhibition" which will feature interesting and informative educational installations that can be visited for FREE during the school holidays from July 4th-10th.
The highlight of the entire series will be held on July 9-10th through the Hybrid "Networking Party," which is a mentorship class with interesting key speakers and TikTok education creators with limited quotas. But if you can't come directly, you can also watch the highlight event through live streaming on @tiktokofficialindonesia starting from 1pm. In this session, there will be a series of interactive talk shows from other super masters and famous creators to share about their respective fields.

On the first day, there is Rachel Amanda who will fill the theme of the Human Personality Spectrum in Today's World. Also present is Pak Win who will fill the session of Smart Starting a Business and Vina Muliana who will share about Preparing for a Smart Career. Lastly, there is Anton Ismael who will be teaching photography with the interesting theme of Seeing Disorder in the World Through the Lens. On the second day, the opening session will feature Merry Riana who will share inspiration about Finding Happiness with the Right Creativity for the World. Other creators will also teach in the following classes, namely @urrofi_ who will share about Welcoming the New Audio Visual Era and Erika Richardo who will teach about Expressing Yourself Through Painting. Cinta Laura Kiehl: Learning Process Never Stops

Selected as TikTok Edu Ambassador for #SerunyaBelajar Ada di TikTok, Cinta Laura provides a lot of inspiration through the press conference session. She believes that learning is a continuous process that never stops.

"It is very important for everyone to be aware that learning is a lifelong process. Why am I constantly motivated? Because our world is becoming more competitive and digital."

If you want to be on par with people in other countries, you have to be open-minded and willing to learn. If you currently feel like an expert in a certain field, there is definitely another group out there whose abilities are greater than ours," said Cinta in the virtual event.

A changing world means that people's way of thinking should also change. This includes learning, which is now more modern and can be adapted to what people enjoy.

"People's way of thinking is already starting to change, but young people still see grades as the standard for their abilities. When they see a grade below 90, they feel down. This mindset needs to be changed because not everyone who is tested can show their superiority on paper. With digital platforms like TikTok, we can learn with methods that are suitable for them so that they can apply what they have learned in real life. Not only public figures, but ordinary people also create content and that makes it more relatable to us." TikTok also makes the learning process not feel forced, but we can also choose the content we like," Cinta continued.

Pak Win: Sharing Information on TikTok Happens in 2 Directions

Tjokro W., or commonly known as Pak Win, the Creator and Winner of the Best of Learning & Education category at the 2020 TikTok Awards, is one of the creators who actively shares business content with interesting and easily digestible videos. He said that what motivates him to keep creating educational content is his passion for sharing and the impact he gets. Apparently, sharing information on TikTok can go both ways.

"From the community side, there are also many who share their personal experiences and the impact of the content I share. So that's what gives me satisfaction. One quite unique thing at first, many users share their stories via DM, wanting their experiences to be anonymously lifted for the purpose of learning. So it turns out that the learning process can happen in two directions," Pak Win explained.

Vina Muliana: Impactful Content that Gives Self-Satisfaction

Vina Muliana, a creator who shares career and self-development content, as well as the Winner of the Best of Learning & Education category at the 2021 TikTok Awards, shared her experience while being active as a TikTok creator. She admits to being motivated to create educational content related to daily life because there are many millennials and GenZ who express their problems through that platform.

"During the pandemic, I saw many people complaining about difficulties in finding a job. Equipped with experience, I made videos about the world of work, how to apply for a job, interviews, and so on. From those videos, I received many positive responses, and even DMs with various contents from complaints to expressions of gratitude. From there, I became even more motivated. It turns out that with just a smartphone, a ring light, and TikTok, the impact can be enormous," said Vina.
