Surprising Fact! Vidi Aldiano Reveals the Original Singer of the 'Crayon Shinchan' OST is Sheila Dara

Children from the 2000s are definitely familiar with the anime of a little boy with thick eyebrows and his beloved red shirt, yes, that's right! Who else but CRAYON SHINCHAN. The Indonesian version of the CRAYON SHINCHAN OST that we often hear and even remember until now is sung by Sheila Dara, KLovers!

This was revealed by Vidi Aldiano in a post on the TikTok account @vella_beaute on December 5, 2023. In the video, Vidi and Sheila can be seen casually chatting with Vidi's younger brother named Vadi. “Do you know, Vad, who sang Shinchan? It was Sheila,” Vidi said to his brother. But Vadi's response seemed skeptical, “You're lying,”.

Meanwhile, Sheila responded calmly and lay next to Vidi, raising both fingers in the shape of the letter V as a sign that she is indeed the singer of the CRAYON SHINCHAN OST. With nostalgia, Vidi sang the OST and was accompanied by Sheila Dara as the original singer of the legendary anime's soundtrack.

1. Sheila Dara's First Job

Sheila Dara Aisha tells the story of how she started working since she was a child. She revealed it in a video on one of her social media accounts in December 2021. Singing the OST (Original Soundtrack) was Sheila Dara's first job when she was little. This was based on her mother having a studio to train young children's talents.

“Fun fact, this was one of my first jobs. At that time, my mom happened to have a studio, so some kids were asked to sing the soundtracks of several anime songs,” Sheila Dara said with a smile, admitting it. “One of them was Shinchan,” she added.

2. Not Only Shinchan's OST

Sheila Dara also admitted that she didn't only sing one OST. At that time, Sheila and her friends sang one of the cartoons that were already familiar and popular in the 2000s, which was Hamtaro. She doesn't remember if she was paid or not for singing that popular soundtrack.

"And we also sang the Hamtaro soundtrack. This was one of my first jobs,” Sheila said.

"I can't remember what we were paid with, maybe we weren't paid. Maybe just a 'thank you'. We didn't ask back then,” Sheila recalled.
