Actress Nanie Darhamm allegedly died due to malpractice during a liposuction surgery performed at a beauty clinic in the Cipete area, South Jakarta. Nanie was reported to have died while undergoing liposuction surgery at the clinic.
According to the Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit of South Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Hendrikus Yossi, the incident occurred on October 21, when Nanie was undergoing liposuction surgery at the clinic.
"Yes, currently we are handling the police report dated October 22 regarding alleged malpractice with the victim, sister ND," said Commissioner Hendrikus Yossi, at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Friday (24/11/2023).
"The incident occurred on October 21, Saturday, in the afternoon when the victim was undergoing liposuction surgery at the clinic," he added.
Yossi stated that at that time, Nanie and one of her friends visited a beauty clinic in the North Cipete area, Kebayoran Baru. Nanie came to undergo liposuction surgery and was treated by several doctors and nurses.
"After the initial examination before the surgery, the victim entered the operating room at around 15.00 WIB. She was treated by several doctors, including a number of nurses in the operating room," he said.
However, during the operation process, Nanie's condition began to show instability, so the clinic decided to immediately call an ambulance and take Nanie to the nearest hospital.
"At that time, the clinic contacted the ambulance to take the victim to the hospital in the Barito area. Then the victim was taken to the hospital, treated in the emergency room, and pronounced dead," he said.
Nanie's family felt suspicious about the actress's death while undergoing liposuction surgery. The next day, they filed a police report regarding the alleged malpractice experienced by Nanie.
"As a result of the incident, the family filed a report the next day regarding the alleged malpractice experienced by the victim," Yossi concluded.
