Natsu and the others chase to the Tower of Heaven island, facing Jellal's forces like Trinity Raven: Ikaruga, Vidaldus, and Fukuro. They struggle through traps and fierce battles, while Erza is forced to confront her past trauma inside the tower.

Jellal uses his mental projection, Siegrain, to deceive the Magic Council into attacking the tower with Etherion, a devastating weapon that actually empowers the R-System.
