"Being married from 2009 to 2012, I eventually decided to convert to Islam; it was a struggle, quite a lot of pressure because we were married across religions and so on," said Marcell.

After careful consideration, Marcell then decided to convert to Islam. "(The pressure) strengthened me like this is the last one. There was a pull to remain as a Buddhist but this is the path that must be taken in this life. I feel like there is a duty that needs to be fulfilled when becoming a Muslim," he said.

Marcell has now been a Muslim for 13 years. His marriage to Rima has become lighter because they share the same beliefs under one roof.
