The House of Diding Boneng that Collapsed is 100 Years Old

Senior actor Diding Boneng brings sad news regarding the condition of his residence in Matraman Dalam, Central Jakarta. The house he has lived in since birth is now in a concerning state after the middle part completely collapsed. The house actually holds a long history for the actor's extended family.

Diding recounted that the house was built by his grandfather and has been passed down through generations. He himself has lived in that building for 75 years, but the original age of the building is estimated to be much older. This is suspected to be the main cause of the building's fragile structure.

Although sad, Diding Boneng appears strong in facing the reality that his childhood home is damaged. He realizes that as the owner, he was not diligent in monitoring the condition of the wooden supports of the house that have aged.

"Oh, I was born here. In this house. And the age of this house is the same as mine. So it's only natural for me that it has fallen (collapsed). Yes, that's because of my fault, I just didn't check it," said Diding Boneng on Tuesday (30/12/2025).

This house holds very high sentimental value for Diding because it is a silent witness to his life journey. Since he was born until he became a famous actor, this house has been his place to return and rest.

"This house has been here for more than 100 years. Because I am 75 years old now. Well, this house was already here when I was born. So in my father's youth or whatever, this was already built," said Diding Boneng.

Diding explained that the relay of home ownership is very clear from generation to generation. He is the third generation to occupy the land and historic building for his family."Grandfather's house, then to my parents, passed down to me. This is the grandfather who built it originally," reminisced Diding Boneng.

The damage to this house is indeed not comprehensive, but the collapsed area is a quite vital functional part. The front part, which has often been repaired, is actually the area that can still be saved.

"The severe damage is in the middle to the back. I don't know if this (the front part) can hold up better, because this has almost always been tinkered with (repaired) by us. If it's in the middle to the back, we are just fine like that," concluded Diding Boneng.

The incident that befell the house full of memories occurred in the Matraman Dalam area, Central Jakarta, on Sunday night, December 28, 2025. Now Boneng and his family cannot occupy their house for the time being.
