Senior actor Tio Pakusadewo shared an unforgettable experience while serving his sentence in prison for the second time in 2020. During that period, he learned to recite the Quran from Ali Imron, a convict from the Bali Bombing case in 2002. Tio revealed that Ali Imron became one of the teachers who helped him remember the letters of the Quran as well as the rules of Tajweed. What is the full story like?
The method used by Ali Imron turned out to be very helpful for him in understanding the Quranic recitation again. In the few meetings, Tio admitted that he was already able to remember the letters in the Quran.
"That's right, Ali Imron is one of my Quran teachers. Ali Imron is the Bali Bomb maker. He was my Quran teacher when I was at the police headquarters. With his method, after three meetings I was able to remember the letters of the Quran, tajwid, and punctuation marks again," said Tio at SCTV Tower, Tuesday (11/2/2025).
The closeness between Tio and Ali Imron developed while they were in detention. Tio mentioned that Ali Imron often visited him in his cell and that is where their relationship formed.
"Because we have a close relationship. He often comes to my cell, the difference is he is an expert in bombs, I am an expert in bong (a device for smoking narcotics)," said Tio, then laughed.
The method taught by Ali Imron to Tio is quite unique and different from the usual way of learning to recite the Quran. Tio admitted that the approach given by Ali Imron helped him understand the Quran readings more quickly.
"What is applied doesn't require memorizing, just look at the shape. Then understand and remember the sound. What the Jim is like and others, his way really got to me. I know the shape, I know the sound," explained Tio.
It is known that Tio Pakusadewo has been arrested by the police twice for drug cases. The first arrest of the actor occurred in 2017, the second in 2020.Â
