Reza commented on the one-year prison sentence decided by the panel of judges of the Central Jakarta District Court for Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie.

“By neglecting rehabilitation at one level, including the initial level, it is risky to push N and A into a higher level of severity. Moreover, we see news that prisons have become places for parties and even drug factories. Without rehabilitation, how can drug prisoners become immune?” said Reza in Jakarta, Monday, January 17, 2022.

1. Not Appropriate When Seen in Black and White

Reza added, drug abuse behavior is not appropriate to be seen in black and white (addict, non-addict). Look at it as a continuum.

“Starting from experimental users, recreational users, regular abusers, high-risk abusers, to addicts,” he said.

2. Rehabilitation Needed for Drug Victims

Meanwhile, Reza explained that rehabilitation is very much needed for drug abuse victims. He mentioned that the goal of rehabilitation is to prevent further deterioration in the next stage of recovery.

“Addicts can also be divided into two types: single-type drug addicts, and diverse-type drug addicts. By looking at it as a continuum, we will understand that rehabilitation is actually needed from the first level. The goal is to prevent it from continuing or worsening to the next level,” Reza explained.

It is known that Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie have been found guilty of drug abuse. Therefore, Nia and Ardi have been sentenced to one year in prison each.

"Judging, declares the defendants Zen Vivanto, Nia Ramadhani, and Ardi Bakrie have been proven guilty of committing a criminal act," said the Judge.

4. Demanding Rehabilitation

"Imposing a sentence on Zen Vivanto, Nia Ramadhani, and Ardi Bakrie with one year imprisonment each," continued the Chief Judge.

Previously, the public prosecutor (JPU) demanded that the defendants Nia Ramadhani, Ardi Bakrie, and Zen Vivanto undergo a 12-month rehabilitation period at RSKO Cibubur.

5. Undergo Rehabilitation for Approximately Five Months

However, Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie have already undergone rehabilitation for approximately five months at the Fan Campus rehabilitation center in Cisarua, West Java.
