This Year's Eid, Ibnu Jamil Makes History as the Imam of Eid Prayer

Kapanlagi.com - This year's Eid is very different for actor Ibnu Jamil. Because he spent it with actress Ririn Ekawati, who is now his lawful wife.

Not only that, due to the pandemic, Ibnu and his family had to perform the Eid prayer at home. And for the first time, he was appointed as the imam.

"We performed the Eid prayer at home because there is no mosque in our area. I became the imam and also delivered the sermon. After that, we asked for forgiveness and then had a meal," said Ibnu when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Monday (17/5/2021).

Ibnu Jamil took on the role of the imam in the prayer because most of Ririn Ekawati's family members are women. So this is the first time in his life he was asked to lead the Eid prayer.

"Honestly, this is a historic moment for me to become the imam in the Eid prayer. Usually, we pray at the mosque or in an open field. Yesterday, Ririn's family had more women, and there were only me and her husband who are men. I happened to be trusted," said the man who has just turned 40 years old.

2. Ririn Ekawati Cooks Soto Banjar

During the Eid holiday, Ibnu Jamil spent a lot of time with his family from Jakarta. Meanwhile, Ririn Ekawati decided not to go back to Samarinda as it was prohibited by the government.

"Fortunately, we are all happy to gather during this Eid. My parents are in Jakarta, so we can go to my parents' house. Ririn's tradition during Eid is to cook Soto Banjar. She makes it herself because she often cooks and it's her hobby," he concluded.
