Threatened with Fines of Billions, Rossa's Management Team Reports to the Police After Viral Hoax Video Ignoring Betrand Peto

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Rossa has just held a concert in Malaysia. Shortly after that, a viral video emerged claiming that Rossa was being indifferent to Betrand Peto while they were singing on stage.

The viral video has led to Rossa receiving criticism. Therefore, Rossa's management team has enlisted a lawyer to file a complaint with the authorities.

"We have just filed a complaint for alleged criminal acts violating Article 27 Paragraph 3 of the ITE Law. The investigators will further study our complaint," said Muhammad Wardaya, Rossa's legal representative, when met at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta, Thursday (20/7/2023).

1. Must Maintain Good Reputation

Complaints were made after the viral video had a significant impact on Rossa. The management explained that as a public figure, there are things that need to be maintained.

"What needs to be known is that artists are bound by contracts or collaborations with several parties to become ambassadors. This collaboration has a clause that explicitly requires maintaining a good reputation. If this is violated, the risk is quite fatal," said Ikhsan Tualeka, spokesperson for Rossa's management.

2. Contract Cancellation and Billions of Fines

The impact of not being able to maintain a good reputation is contract cancellation. And the most fatal is paying fines or penalties worth billions.

"First, contract cancellation is something we want to avoid. Second is the fine or penalty that can be imposed on our talent, which can reach billions. This is what then led us to seek legal protection to file a complaint," continued Ikhsan Tualeka.

Rossa's management team hopes that the complaint will be promptly addressed. So that they can determine the next steps regarding the damaging video.
