The fashion show titled 'Beauty of Indonesian Woven Fabric and Batik' also received full support from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf).
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, this event plays an important role in strengthening the nation's identity and introducing Nusantara textiles such as batik, woven fabric, and songket to the world stage.
"We are very proud and hope that this event can contribute to the GDP of the creative economy and increase enthusiasm for Nusantara textiles," said Sandiaga during The Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno event in Jakarta, Monday, May 27, 2024.
This event is held upon the invitation of the Mayor of San Polo, Italy, as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Italy. The presence of models and Puteri Indonesia such as Giok Kinski Maharani Detri, Latisa Maura, and Yoan Clara also strengthens the support for designer Dian Natalia in showcasing the best Nusantara textiles.
Dian Natalia Assamady conveyed that the beauty of Indonesian textiles needs to be known internationally. "The batik and woven motifs owned by each region in Indonesia have their own characteristics and uniqueness. This is worth fighting for to strengthen the nation's identity," said Dian.
"I want to strengthen the creative economy of the homeland and show how valuable our batik and woven fabrics are. Hopefully, this can make Indonesia more recognized on the global stage," she added.
This fashion show is expected to not only introduce the cultural richness of Indonesia but also increase the world's appreciation for Nusantara textiles.
Dian said that Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga also invites the public to love and preserve Indonesia's cultural heritage and actively participate in developing domestic art and crafts.

The Miss Indonesia participants, including Giok Kinski Maharani Detri, Latisa Maura, and Yoan Clara, also took part in this event. They were seen enthusiastic when met at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport before departing to Italy. They are ready to showcase the beauty of Indonesian woven fabric and batik to the world, promoting the nation's name in the international arena.
Meanwhile, Miss Indonesia Intelegensia 2023 Giok Kinski Maharani Detri expressed her enthusiasm in participating in the event. She wants to promote Indonesian textiles as one of the nation's pride and identity.
"Praise and gratitude, alhamdulillah, I am fortunate to get to know designer Dian Natalia Assamady. Mbak Dian invited me, among others, to collaborate with Miss Indonesia to represent Indonesia there," said Giok Kinski.
When asked about her love for Indonesian textiles, Giok Kinski admitted that she likes all types of Indonesian textiles. However, her favorite is woven fabric. "Actually, I like all types, but because I prefer something bling-bling, I like woven fabric the most, it gives a more luxurious impression," she explained.
Giok Kinski, who has Javanese heritage, revealed that she has loved Indonesian textiles since she was a child. And currently, she is particularly fond of woven fabric.
