Angry mixed with annoyance, that's what Tika Panggabean felt when she found out that her name and portrait were used for slimming drug promotions. What disappointed Tika was that her closest friends almost became victims because of the advertisement. "I'm actually angry," said Tika Panggabean in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, recently.
Tika admitted that she has never used slimming drugs to lose weight in her entire life. That's why if the owner of the product asks for permission to use her name and portrait, she will refuse.
"He used my name without permission. Even if he asks for permission, I won't give it. Because I don't use those drugs. I don't use any slimming products or anything," said Tika.
Moreover, Tika, who now looks thinner, is considered successful because of consuming those pills. In fact, it was achieved through Tika's hard work all this time.
"What I have now is the result of my hard work, waking up early in the morning, exercising. When suddenly he claims that I am like this, well, 'You're just enjoying it,' right? 'You're crazy, you don't know how hard I work,'" expressed Tika.
One of Tika's concerns is whether the side effects of the slimming drugs are still within safe limits or not.
Tika is worried that people who believe in the advertisement will blame themselves if they experience any disturbing side effects after consuming the slimming medicine.
"What's worse is if those who believe in it then buy the medicine, supplements, or whatever slimming medicine it is, and it turns out to have an impact on themselves, that's very dangerous, right?" said Tika.
"Even though I could just say, 'It's not my fault,' but it's still pitiful. The medicine may not be suitable for them and whether the ingredients are truly healthy," she concluded.
