Tina Toon's Response to Residents Rejecting Covid-19 Affected Bodies: Very Sad

"I am very concerned about the rejection of bodies that is currently happening, but it has actually been advised by the central government and the provincial government that there should be no rejection of bodies. Because there is already a standard operating procedure, they have been wrapped in plastic and the virus will die after a few hours in the plastic and so on," said Tina Toon when contacted by phone on Monday (4/13).

As is known, not long ago, there was an RT pikah in a village that prohibited Covid-19 affected bodies from being buried in the surrounding cemetery. It was known that the victim was a medical worker who was fighting against the deadly virus.

1. Hoping There Will Be No More Rejections

Tina Toon also mentioned that there is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the burial of Covid-19 victims. So she hopes that with this SOP, there will be no more rejections of Covid-19 victims in the future.

"So hopefully in the future there will be no more rejections. But still, follow the procedures and SOP, positive COVID victims who died in hospitals must be handled properly to prevent potential transmission to others," she said.

2. Sadness as the Number of Victims Increases

Tina Toon couldn't hide her sadness. Especially since Covid-19 has spread to Indonesia a few months ago, it has claimed many victims.

"Basically, it's really sad and I sympathize with the current pandemic situation, many have become victims," said the 26-year-old woman.

She also hopes that the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) can reduce the transmission rate and of course, put an end to this Covid-19 outbreak.

"Hopefully with PSBB and increased public awareness, the number of positive cases will decrease and there won't be more victims," she continued.
