Tipe-X Has Lasted 30 Years, Tresno Reveals Why His Band Will Not Disband

Kapanlagi.com - The ska band from Jakarta, Tipe-X, has entered its 30th year in the Indonesian music scene. The vocalist of Tipe-X, Tresno Riadi, shared the reasons why his band can continue to exist without ever experiencing a split.

According to Tresno, one of the keys to Tipe-X's unity is the strong sense of belonging to the band. He describes Tipe-X as a home for all its members.

"One, because Tipe-X is indeed a home. So as the kids say, wherever we go, Tipe-X is our home. We always return there. So as long as we are still a band, still together, we will not disband," Tresno told Kapanlagi.com

1. Main Medium in Creating Art

The second reason why Tipe-X remains enduring is because this band serves as their main medium for creating art. Tresno emphasizes that their orientation is not solely about popularity or trends.

"The second one, this is our place to create. So we are not talking about whether it sells, whether people like it or not, but we try our best, to have works that everyone can enjoy. And we hope this song can be accepted by all circles," he said.

2. A Source of Income

Behind the spirit of making music, Tresno also does not deny that this band is a source of income for its members. This becomes the third reason why Tipe-X remains solid.

"The third one, a source of income, hahahaha," said Tresno while laughing.

3. Memories of Touring to Various Regions

Throughout their 30-year career journey, Tipe-X has gone through various tour experiences to different regions. Tresno reminisced about one of the farthest tours they ever undertook.

"Wow, if I forget the first time, huh? But we have toured Java, Madura, and even Bali. 16 cities, that was the longest road we ever took. But, if I initially forget," he said.

4. 30th Anniversary

In 2025, coinciding with the celebration of three decades of their journey, Tipe-X is preparing to hold a tour titled 'Tipe-X Orcheska: 30 Years Music Tour'. This tour will also serve as the launch event for their 8th album.

"Yes. So, it has been a long time since we toured for individual events. Now, we are trying to do this. It just so happens that this year, in 2025, is Tipe-X's 30th anniversary, plus we want to release our 8th album. So we want to create something special. That's why we are organizing the Orcheska tour," said Tresno.

5. Target 30 Cities

Regarding the number of cities to be visited in the 'Tipe-X Orcheska: 30 Years Music Tour', Tresno mentioned that the initial target is 30 cities. However, he emphasized that the most important thing is that the process can proceed first.

"Ideally, we want 30, but right now the important thing is to get started, if in the end we can reach 30, then that’s great," he said.

6. Prepare a Different Concept

Tresno also invites fans not to miss the 'Tipe-X Orcheska: 30 Years Music Tour' because the concept is truly different from previous Tipe-X performances. He mentioned there will be a unique blend of ska music and orchestra.

"So here’s the thing, if you often go to Tipe-X events, this time you will see something really different. We want to collaborate between ska music and orchestra. It’s almost more than half using the orchestra,"

"Then we will bring the orchestra to the stage. So we are indeed using an outdoor stage, we will use the orchestra throughout this Orcheska tour. It’s definitely very different. And we will perform all songs from the first album to the latest album," he concluded.
