Tissa Biani Reveals Her Biggest Passion is in Music, Maia Estianty as a Role Model

Tissa Biani's career in acting is undoubtedly impressive. However, who would have thought that her biggest passion since childhood is actually in the world of singing, not acting.

Tissa Biani candidly discusses her childhood dream. She admits that singing has been a part of her life long before she entered the acting world.

"Yes, yes that's true. Actually, since I was little, I've often sung, more often than acting. I used to sing in front of the mirror, just liked to sing like that," Tissa revealed when met in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/8/2025).

Tissa even remembers well the song she often sang as a child. The song by Rossa, Ayat-Ayat Cinta, became her favorite when performing in front of the mirror.

"Back then I really loved the song by Teh Oca, 'Ayat-Ayat Cinta', I loved it so much. Sometimes I would sing in front of the mirror, 'The whisper of sand in the barren field...' like that," she said.

"Then, if asked why I eventually became an actor, it seems like I just fell into it. In fact, before becoming an actor, I preferred singing. I liked singing more, I liked dancing more," she explained.

As a music enthusiast, Tissa also has several musicians who inspire her. She mentioned several big names in the Indonesian music industry whose works she admires.

"I really like Nadin Amizah's album that went viral yesterday. I'm a bit inspired by her, you know. And I really love Slank. I really love Slank. Oh, and I also really like Dewa's album, and the last one I was listening to yesterday was Ali, Petra Sihombing," she said.

Not to be missed, she also mentioned Bunda Maia Estianty as one of her role models. "Of course. Bunda Maia is a role model for many people, not just me, you know. She inspires a lot of people," said Tissa.

Her love for music is also expressed through her hobby of collecting guitars. She admitted to enjoying collecting various types of guitars, from acoustic to electric. "Of course. I'm quite happy collecting guitars, from acoustic to electric," she concluded.
