Tora Sudiro and Friends Change the Legendary Song of Meggy Z with a Different Version, Becomes the OST of the Film 'KANG SOLAH FROM KANG MAK X NENEK GAYUNG'

"The song 'Senyum Membawa Luka' is indeed legendary, so we want to present it again with a different touch but still memorable. When these six characters come together, it can make the recording studio feel like a stand-up comedy stage. The audience can feel the emotions, but also remain entertained," said Frederica at a press conference at XXI Kemang Village, South Jakarta, Saturday (9/8).

Andre Taulany admitted that he had some difficulties when recording this song. However, with the presence of a vocal coach who helped, he and his friends were able to record smoothly.

"Honestly, during the vocal takes, it was difficult. Because the nuances are quite tricky, right? But we had a vocal coach named Mas Ade Omar who taught us. So he helped us during the recording of this song," he said.

Rigen Rakelna, with his joking style, said that this is a new experience for him. "I usually sing in the shower. But this time singing in the studio, recorded, and then played in the cinema. Honestly, a bit scared. Scared that the audience will ask for a refund," he said while laughing.

Indra Jegel also admitted that the biggest challenge was not in vocal technique, but in maintaining cohesion and atmosphere during recording. "This song is heavy. Especially singing with all comedians. The challenge is not the high notes, but holding back laughter during vocal takes," he explained.

Tora Sudiro believes this latest version has a unique vibe. "If Meggy Z sings while looking handsome, I sing while thinking about a ghost carrying a bucket. So the feel of the song is, well, unique," he said while laughing.

Indro Warkop, as a legend of Indonesian comedy, feels proud to be part of this project. "I am already a senior, but I still have the enthusiasm to sing. Because this is not just a song, but part of a funny and exciting story in the movie," he said.

The presence of the latest version of Senyum Membawa Luka is expected to evoke memories for viewers who grew up in the 80s and 90s, while also introducing this legendary song to a new generation with a fresh and entertaining vibe.
