Touching on Human Rights, Hotman Paris Asks for Clarity from KPI Regarding Saipul Jamil's TV Ban

Kapanlagi.com - After being released from prison for a case of sexual harassment, Saipul Jamil has been heavily criticized by netizens. Not only boycotted, but now the man who is familiarly called Bang Ipul is also prohibited from appearing on television.

Because of that, Saipul Jamil finally asked for special assistance from the famous lawyer Hotman Paris. He claimed to have suffered losses because there were several contracts that had to be canceled.

Hotman himself emphasized that he was not speaking as Saipul Jamil's legal representative. However, because Saipul has been his loyal fan for a long time, he decided to speak up.

"I have a question for KPI regarding the letter dated September 6, 2021, asking KPI to clarify the issue of the letter to television stations, whether Saipul Jamil is allowed to appear on TV or not? Because all TV stations are afraid to feature Saipul Jamil on their shows," said Hotman Paris, as quoted from his Instagram account (09/09).

1. Talking about Human Rights

Not stopping there, Hotman also talked about Human Rights in the case of the boycott of Saipul Jamil. He mentioned the contents of the letter from KPI which did not explicitly prohibit.

Hotman assessed that although it was not explicitly prohibited, several television stations started to worry about it. As a result, Saipul Jamil felt disadvantaged because of the loss of work contracts.

"So please, for the sake of human rights, I ask KPI to clarify in writing, whether Saipul Jamil is allowed to appear on TV? If not, what is the reason?" Hotman asked.

"Because the letter does not explicitly prohibit but all TV companies are worried to invite him. Some even canceled his contracts. The same goes for Komnas HAM and the DPR which oversees KPI, please question this issue," concluded the flamboyant lawyer.
