Umi Pipik Nostalgia of the Past While Bathing Her First Grandchild, Becomes a Caring Grandmother

The happiness of Umi Pipik cannot be hidden. The presence of her first grandchild, Baby Elara, the child of Adiba Khanza and Egy Maulana Vikri, truly changes her mood to one full of joy. The wife of the late Ustaz Jefri Al Buchori (Uje) admits that she really enjoys her new role as a grandmother.

In fact, Umi Pipik was willing to stay for a full week at Adiba's house after the birth to help take care of her grandchild. She personally took part in everything, from bathing the baby to cooking for her child and son-in-law, considering Adiba is still in recovery.

"Yes, for the first week after returning from the hospital, I stayed there for a week. So I helped with bathing, everything," she said when met in the Kemang area of South Jakarta on Friday (02/01/2026).

Umi Pipik also sees a resemblance between her grandchild and her late husband. According to her, Baby Elara's lips are very similar to Uje's. This certainly serves as a special remedy for the longing of Umi Pipik's extended family for the figure of the famous preacher.

"There’s a bit of Egy, and the foreign traits probably come from Egy. Then there’s a bit of Adiba, and also Uje. Maybe Uje's influence is in her lips," she said with a smile.

Umi Pipik has a special affectionate nickname from her grandchild, which is "Jidah". This nickname was chosen because it sounds cute and has a deep meaning, considering that the late Uje once dreamed of being called "Jid" if he were to have grandchildren someday.
