Update on Gisel - Nobu's Indecent Video Case, Suspect's Lawyer Regrets This

Kapanlagi.com - MN and PP, the distributors of explicit videos of Gisella Anastasia with Michael Yukinobu alias Nobu, were sentenced by the judge of the South Jakarta District Court to nine months in prison and a fine of Rp 50 million, or three months of imprisonment as a substitute.

According to MN's legal representative, Andreas Nahot Silitonga, the verdict is considered relatively good. However, Andreas Nahot regrets that his client was fined Rp 50 million.

"But we consider this to be quite good, considering that he has already served for 8 months. Our hope was for a nine-month sentence, but unfortunately there is a fine of 50 million or three months of imprisonment as a substitute," said Andreas Nahot in Pancoran, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (13/7/2021).

Upon hearing the verdict, what was the reaction of MN's family? Coincidentally, Andreas Nahot had already discussed this matter with MN's family. Since they haven't talked much about it, MN's father only expressed his gratitude for helping his child.

"I just spoke to his father, we haven't talked much actually, but he said thank you. We are also grateful for the trust given, we provide defense and advocate services to the community," he said.

From his perspective, Andreas Nahot said that MN's father felt a little disappointed with the nine-month verdict imposed by the judge of the South Jakarta District Court.

"Actually, if you look at MN's parents, they must be disappointed because this family is also somewhat affected since MN is a good child. Just to finish his studies with a GPA of 3.8 in the Faculty of Economics and Accounting at one of the universities in Jakarta. It means he is serious, it's not just an expression but he really had a caption when sending it, he asked," he said.

2. Not Intended

According to Andreas Nahot, his client never intended to disseminate the explicit video performed by Gisel with Nobu. According to him, MN only asked about the truth of the actors in the video.

"MN did not spread it massively to the public, but to a WhatsApp group with only six people. If the punishment is up to 12 years, that's why we were moved to defend. In that group, he asked, if you read the sequence, it's only confirmation, he just asked," he said.

With this verdict, MN and PP have the opportunity to file an appeal or accept the verdict within a period of seven days.

"Actually, we haven't discussed an appeal, hopefully we will decide on the legal steps in the near future," he said.
