Uya Kuya Often Called Arrogant for Refusing to Shake Hands with Strangers

Various layers of society are now taking various preventive measures, including Uya Kuya and his family. Although he is now more cautious, the famous presenter does not respond to this matter with too much panic.

"For me, it's like just taking care of my health, washing hands. Now I wash my hands dozens of times a day. I take vitamins, drink honey, get enough rest. Because our health minister has said that the coronavirus can heal on its own as long as our stamina and body are strong, like other flu," said Uya when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Friday (13/3).

1. Avoid Shaking Hands with Others

One of the ways the coronavirus spreads is through direct skin contact. Based on that fact, Uya now chooses not to shake hands with others and brings his own tissue to protect himself.

"Well, what can I do now? It's like I don't shake hands with people. I've been like this even before some people told me. If people think I'm arrogant, I just explain that if I carry the virus, I say that," he continued.

"Well, it's a virus, it doesn't know a person's place or status. I haven't shaken hands for two weeks, even before Indonesia had it. I already have a package of tissues to press the elevator buttons," Uya explained.

2. Not Caring About Being Labeled Arrogant

Uya's children, Cinta and Nino, also do the same thing to protect themselves. The husband of Astrid Kuya doesn't care if others perceive him and his family as arrogant because of their actions.

"Yes, my children too. They are still, but at home, when we go out of the elevator, there is already sterilization, there is hand sanitizer. There are many problems, people say Papi Uya is arrogant, but I don't mind," he added.

3. Had a Flu and Cough

Before the news about the corona virus spread in Indonesia, Uya had a flu and cough. Although it seemed like a common illness, he and his family immediately decided to see a doctor at that time.

"I've had a flu and cough for the past 2 weeks, so I went straight to a lung doctor, a pulmonary specialist. My children also had X-rays and blood tests. Even before the government announced it, my children had the flu 2 weeks ago," Uya concluded.
