"Alhamdulillah, he is in good condition. Still fasting, still enthusiastic. There is still support from family," said Martin when met at Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta, Thursday (5/3/2026).

This visit moment was also used by the family to bring Vadel's favorite food for breaking the fast. If previously Vadel often asked for klepon, this time his mother prepared a special menu of rolled sponge cake for her beloved son.

"Cake...yes, sponge cake. His favorite, rolled sponge cake. Changed, not klepon anymore. Not klepon anymore, now it's rolled sponge cake. Mama just loves making it," said Martin.

2. Chasing the Target of Reading the Qur'an

Not just fasting, Vadel is also reported to be pursuing his spiritual target this Ramadan. Martin revealed that his younger brother has a strong intention to finish reading the holy book of the Qur'an before the victory day of Idul Fitri arrives.

"Still in the process, still in the process. His intention is to complete the Qur'an, but it is still in progress. Hopefully, he can finish it before Eid, bismillah," explained Martin.

In addition to focusing on worship, Vadel often lightens the mood when meeting family by asking about the typical Ramadan dishes available at home. Simple things like fried snacks and lontong are the most common questions he asks his siblings.

"Just joking, focusing on fasting, and asking what to break the fast with at home. Are there risoles? Is there lontong? As usual, is there bird's eye chili? Those are all his favorites. Don't worry, there's still some left, and I'll finish it," joked Martin.
