Fairuz A Rafiq's Mother Suffers from Alzheimer’s, Can Only Lie on the Bed

Fairuz revealed that her mother is currently fighting against a severe case of Alzheimer’s. Sonny Septian's wife shared that her mother's physical condition is very weak.

1. Current Condition of the Mother

The mother can no longer sit for long periods and spends most of her time lying in bed. This has certainly been a heavy blow for Fairuz and the family.

"Yes, Mama is indeed sick, she has Alzheimer’s, she can no longer speak, and she can’t sit for long either. So she spends more time in bed," said Fairuz A Rafiq with a sad tone when met in the Depok area, West Java, on Tuesday (03/03/2026).

2. Communication is Very Limited

The background of this degenerative disease makes communication with the mother very limited. Nevertheless, Fairuz remains grateful because her mother can still provide small responses when invited to interact, which is a comfort for her children.

"Alhamdulillah she can still (respond a little)," she added, trying to be strong.

3. Unstable Memory

Alzheimer's disease also makes the mother's memory unstable. Fairuz revealed that often her mother forgets the faces of her children and grandchildren, so they have to constantly remind their mother of her memories every time they visit.

"Sometimes she remembers me, sometimes she remembers her children, sometimes she doesn't. So yesterday, when she should have known her friends, she knew all of Mama's friends... it was really sad to see. This is Mama's grandchild. Usually, when reminded, she gets happy. Even though we often visit, she forgets again," said Fairuz.

4. Sonny Septian's Closeness with His In-Laws

As a son-in-law, Sonny Septian also strives to provide entertainment for his mother-in-law. He often invites his children to perform in front of their grandmother, such as singing or reciting the Quran, hoping that this can serve as a remedy and bring joy in her old age.

"Later we will have a performance, Brother Eijaz will sing in front of Grandma. Brother Faaz will recite for Grandma. So, God willing, it will be a remedy for Grandma. No matter how small the effort we make, I hope the entertainment we provide can reach her," said Sonny Septian.

5. Provide the Best Service

Now, Fairuz's main focus is to provide the best service for her mother in the remaining years of her life. She always prioritizes whatever her mother wants to ensure she remains happy, even though her condition is very limited.

"Whatever Mama wants, I prioritize it; what's important is that Mama is happy, whatever Mama wants, I can give," concluded Fairuz A Rafiq.

6. Tradition in the Month of Ramadan

Although the condition of her mother is concerning, the Ramadan tradition is still carried out solemnly in their home. Fairuz continues to hold iftar events with family and close friends, and fills the holy month with positive activities such as tarawih prayers and group studies.

"Earlier, I organized tarawih prayers together during this Ramadan, and group studies with close friends," explained the mother of King Faaz.

7. Sharing with Orphans

Fairuz also did not forget to share happiness with orphaned children. Together with her husband and children, she held a breaking the fast event that also included singing entertainment to cheer up the little ones from the orphanage. This moment of sharing became a source of comfort and strength for Fairuz amid the health trials facing her mother.

"Yes, I'm really happy to be able to engage in activities, breaking the fast with the children, and with my husband as well. Alhamdulillah, I can entertain the orphaned little ones," she said.
