The copyright lawsuit hearing for the song 'Nuansa Bening' was held again at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Keenan Nasution's lawyer, Minola Sebayang, was present in the courtroom at 11:30 AM WIB. However, Vidi Aldiano has not yet been seen present. Minola stated that today’s hearing agenda is still examining the lawsuit.
"So today, the second agenda of this hearing is still examining the lawsuit while waiting for the defendant's attorney or the defendant himself," said Keenan Nasution's attorney, Minola Sebayang, at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court on Wednesday (6/11/2025).
Minola stated that until he and his team registered their attendance, there were no signs of presence from Vidi Aldiano. According to him, neither Vidi nor his lawyer had officially recorded their attendance in the court attendance list.
"Until we registered our attendance earlier, the defendant was still absent, and his lawyer was also not present, so we will wait until the deadline set by the court," he said.
He still hopes that Vidi's lawyer can attend the hearing. According to Minola, this presence will facilitate the ongoing legal process. "We hope that his lawyer will be present," said Minola.
Minola emphasized that Vidi's absence does not disappoint them or diminish their spirit in undergoing the legal process. On the contrary, he believes that this absence could be detrimental to the defendant's own side.
"If the defendant does not appear consecutively three times, then this trial process will continue and the decision will be made in absentia without the presence of the plaintiff," he said.
This case originated from the allegation of using the song 'Nuansa Bening' without permission by Vidi Aldiano. The song is a work of Keenan Nasution and Rudi Pekerti, released in the 1980s. The lawsuit regarding this copyright infringement case was filed by Keenan and Rudi at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court with case number 51/Pdt.Sus-HKI/Cipta/2025/PN Niaga Jkt. Pst. The total amount of damages requested by the plaintiffs in this case reaches IDR 24.5 billion.
