Welcoming Ramadan Spirit, Roy Geurts Has Been Learning to Fast Since Before Meeting Cita Citata

Kapanlagi.com - The decision of Roy Geurts to embrace Islam has been thought about for quite some time. Even before meeting Cita Citata, the Dutch man had already learned a lot about Islam.

Now Roy has officially become a convert. He recited the two sentences of the shahada on Thursday, (16/4) in Jakarta and changed his name to Maher.

After reciting the shahada, Roy expressed his feelings to Cita. Through Cita's YouTube channel, Roy admitted that he was happy because he officially became a convert before Ramadan.

According to Roy, the moment of choosing to convert to Islam is very good. Because it takes place exactly one week before the Ramadan fasting.

"The moment is very good. This is Thursday, next week is fasting. More enthusiastic to complete the fasting," he said with a smile.

2. Been Learning Fasting for a Long Time

Apparently, Roy has been learning to perform fasting for quite a long time. Previously, he had fasted even though only lasted for a few days.

"I am very proud because you have fasted before meeting me," said Cita.

"Yes. But honestly, friends, I failed in the first 2 weeks. Maybe because I haven't converted yet, I don't know," he replied.

"No, but because you didn't know about sahur (pre-dawn meal)," Cita replied.

3. Cita Teaches Roy About Islam

Cita then gave Roy some knowledge about sahur that must be done. Apparently, since their first meeting, Roy has been asking a lot about Islam.

"Right when we first met, he asked me about Muslims. In my opinion, all religions teach goodness. But I believe in Allah. If we believe in our God, we will find tranquility, peace," said Cita.

Roy agreed with Cita's statement and referred to his decision to choose Islam as a blessing. "No, not a blessing. But destiny. This is called destiny," explained Cita.
